Advanced Setting – Set-up Minimum Profit
Why I need to set Minimum profit?
- It refers to the minimum profit that you can get from cross-selling / dynamic package which protects the profit after discount applied
How the system apply the package price after minimum profit was set?
- If the profit after discount is smaller than minimum profit, the system will add the minimum profit set in package price.
Let’s take the following example:
Dynamic Package for 1 Traveler with 1 round trip Flight plus 1 Hotel room night
Flight fare: $500 (Price) - $200 (Cost) = $300 (Profit)
Hotel room rate per night: $200 (Price) - $150 (Cost) = $50 (Profit)
Package Discount set: $180 per booking
Scenario 1 : No minimum profit set
Package Price : $500(Flight Price) + $200(Hotel Price) - $180(Discount set) = $520
Package profit after discount: $300 (Flight Profit) + $50 (Hotel Profit) - $180 (Discount) = $170
As there is no minimum profit set, system will show $520 as package price
Scenario 2 : Minimum profit set: $200
1 Flight fare and 1 Room night
Package Price before take consideration of minimum profile set:
$500(Flight Price) + $200(Hotel Price) - $180(Discount set) = $520
Package profit after discount: $300 (Flight Profit) + $50 (Hotel Profit) - $180 (Discount) = $170
As the package profit after discount is smaller than minimum profit set, ($170 < $200) and the difference is ($200 - $170) = $30
Thus, the system will calculate the package price as below:
New Package price after consideration of minimum profit :
[$500 (Flight Price) + $30 Profit Difference) + $200(Hotel Price) - $180(Discount set) = $550
